Our spies have already caught the Nissan GT-R Nismo lapping the Nordschleife in 7 minutes and 28 seconds but the company appears to be looking to improve upon that time as they recently rented the entire course in what appears to be a record setting attempt.

Details are limited but Bridge to Gantry says it was an unusual sight to see the entire Nordschleife effectively shut down just for the GT-R Nismo. The site also notes that there was a full "compliment of safety marshals and timing beacons in the industry/sport-auto positions."

Nissan has been relatively quiet about specifications but the car is expected to use a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 engine that produces at least 570 bhp (425 kW). This, combined with a number of weight saving measures, will reportedly enable the model to rocket from 0-100 km/h in an insane 2.0 seconds.
