Mercedes has introduced the new A 250 Sport 4MATIC, CLA 250 Sport and CLA 250 Sport 4MATIC.

"Engineered by AMG", the Sport models are distinguished by red accents, special badging and black 18-inch alloy wheels. The cars also have a sport-tuned suspension, an AMG speed-sensitive sports steering system and a new exhaust system that promises to deliver a "more emotional" note.

Interior changes are relatively limited but include designo red seat belts and "Sport" branded floor mats.

Power is provided by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 211 HP (155 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a 7G-DCT dual clutch transmission which can be paired to an optional all-wheel drive system on the CLA.

In related news, Mercedes introduced the entry-level CLA 180 CDI which features a 1.5-liter (1461 cc) four-cylinder diesel engine that develops 109 HP (80 kW) and 260 Nm (191 lb-ft) of torque. When equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, the model accelerates from 0-100km in 11.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 205 km/h (127 mph). In terms of efficiency, owners can expect to average 3.9L/100km (60.3 mpg US / 72.4 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 102 g/km.
