Dodge has pulled off an interesting marketing scheme by selecting Ron Burgundy to promote the 2014 Durango.

If the name doesn't ring a bell, it represents a fictional character played by Will Ferrell in the "Anchorman" motion picture from 2004. Dodge has already released four clips with Ron Burgundy and this is only just the beginning as Will Ferrell already recorded no less than 68 ads.

In this first series of clips we watch Ron talking about the spacious glovebox (which can hold 70 packs of gum) , engine lineup (V6 and V8 HEMIs) and fuel economy (25 mpg on the highway). You will be able to see more of Ron in December when the sequel to Anchorman will hit theaters.

As for the 2014 Durango, it can be configured with 290 bhp (216 kW) V6 3.6-liter or 360 bhp (268 kW) V8 5.7-liter HEMI engines. Both of them are mated to a new 8-speed automatic gearbox which on the six-cylinder model provides a nine percent lower fuel consumption.

The facelift has brought a revised front fascia, rear bumper and different alloys in sizes ranging from 18 to 20 inches, while the interior has gained a redesigned dashboard, center console, steering wheel, digital instrument cluster and an 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system.
