Jaguar has released a new video that highlights the development the Project 7 which debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year.

In the clip, Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum says "[The] Project 7 is a low stream, single seater version of an F-Type. It's something we, as designers and car lovers, doodle and love to do all the time." When Callum saw Cesar Pieri's sketch of the car, he fell in love with it and pushed the design team to make a production version. In the end, Callum says the car captures the spirit of Jaguar "in its purest, purest form."

As we have previously reported, the Project 7 has a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that produces 550 HP (405 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to an eight-speed Quickshift transmission which enables the roadster to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and hit an electronically-limited top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph).
