A WCF reader has sent us a render depicting the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Convertible envisioned in relation to the 2007 Ocean Drive concept.

It was only last week when Mercedes-Benz's head of research and development Thomas Weber declared an S-Class Convertible is in the works and will be based on the S-Class Coupe. While the aforementioned Ocean Drive concept had four doors, the 2014 S-Class Cabrio will feature two doors and a retractable soft top.

The attached render essentially shows a convertible variant of the sedan riding on black multi-spoke alloys and featuring a soft top. The "V12" lettering indicates the author envisioned the car in the S65 AMG flavor with a V12 6.0-liter engine which in the sedan is rumored to output 630 HP (463 kW) and 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft) of torque.

Mercedes-Benz has not confirmed whether the coupe and convertible will receive more powerful AMG versions, but a prototype of the S63 AMG Coupe has already been spied so most likely there will be an S63 AMG Convertible as well. As for the S65 AMG, for now we know only the sedan will get the V12 but it could be carried over to other body styles as well.

Special thanks go to J.E for sending us the renders!
