Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann has revealed some new details about the Urus crossover.

Speaking to Automotive News, Winkelmann said "We're working on it and it will come, which will be good for the brand." He added that the model is going "low profile now" so he can't say much about it but mentioned "When we get close to the launch, we will have more" to share.

Despite Winkelmann's suggestions that the model has been green-lighted, nothing has been officially announced. However, previous reports have indicated Audi Chairman Rupert Stadler confirmed the crossover will launched in 2017.

Regardless, the model is expected to ride on the MLB Evo platform which will be shared with the next-generation Audi Q7, Bentley Falcon, Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg. Powertain details are a still little murky but rumors have suggested we can expect a twin-turbo V8 and possibly a plug-in hybrid variant.
