Following a leak earlier this year, BMW has officially unveiled their new X6 M Design Edition.

BMW has officially unveiled the X6 M Design Edition.

Set to appeal to M addicts, the X6 M Design Edition has a carbon front splitter, a matte black grille and 21-inch lightweight alloy wheels. The crossover has also been equipped with a carbon fiber rear spoiler and a stylish rear diffuser. Customers can also order optional M Performance stripes but hopefully they won't.

The sporty styling continues in the cabin as there's a Black / Mugello Red leather-wrapped dashboard, matching two-tone Merino leather seats and Piano Black trim. The model also has Mugello Red contrast stitching and an individually-numbered plaque.

There's no word on any performance modifications, so the model likely has a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine that develops 555 HP (408 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque. This should enable the crossover to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and hit a limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

Production will be limited to 100 units but there's no word on pricing or availability.
