The Bowling Green Assembly plant has built around 1,000 units so far for customer deliveries and the cars will reach dealerships within the next few weeks. General Motors invested around 131M USD at the facility to get it ready for C7 production. 52M USD of the investment was represented by the new body shop necessary to make Stingray's all-new aluminum frame.

The new Corvette is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 LT1 engine developing 455 bhp (339 kW) and 460 lb-ft (624 Nm) of torque. When equipped with the optional exhaust system, the motor produces 460 bhp (343 kW) and 465 lb-ft (630 Nm). The Z51 will do 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.8 seconds and the quarter mile in 12 seconds at 119 mph (191 km/h). According to EPA's estimations, the regular C7 can return 17 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.

Chevrolet mentions production of the Convertible will start before the end of the year.
