Mercedes has introduced the 2014 E250 BlueTEC sedan in the United States.
Set to become the most affordable E-Class in America, the E250 BlueTEC has a 2.1-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine that produces 195 bhp (145 kW) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a seven-speed automatic transmission which enables the sedan to return 28 mpg city / 45 mpg highway or 27 mpg city / 42 mpg highway with the optional 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. As Mercedes is quick to point out, "No other diesel sedan [in America] offers a better EPA fuel economy highway estimate" than the E250 BlueTEC.
The model will go on sale shortly and pricing starts at $51,400 or $53,900 with 4MATIC all-wheel drive (both excluding a $925 destination & delivery fee).
