The next generation of the Renault Twingo was spied recently ahead of its official debut scheduled most likely for September 2014 at Paris Motor Show.

Several months ago Renault gave us a glimpse of the next-gen Twingo by showing the Twin'Run concept. A prototype of the new Twingo can be seen in these spy photos and we already can tell lots of design cues are taken from the aforementioned concept. The new model will share its platform with the next-gen Smart ForTwo and will adopt a rear-wheel drive layout.

Power is expected to come from a range of small and efficient three-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines which should make the new Twingo a great car for city use. Unlike the current model, the next-gen will be available in a five-door configuration and chances are there won't be a three-door variant after all.
