According to a recent report, the Volkswagen Jetta Alltrack will be launched in the U.S. in December of 2014.
Set to be based on the new Jetta SportWagen, the model is expected to feature plastic body cladding, larger alloy wheels and meatier tires. We can also expect all-wheel drive and an increased ride height that will make the model 1-2 inches (25-50mm) taller than the SportWagen. The car could also have a revised front fascia to help separate it from the more mainstream wagon.
Volkswagen of America product strategy and marketing manager Kevin Joostema declined to confirm the existence of the vehicle but told Edmunds "You can't ignore the success Subaru is having, especially with the Crosstrek coming out." He added that the "profile for our core SportWagen customers is very similar to some of those Subaru customers."
