A Jaguar XQ mule has been seen undergoing testing prior to the possible unveiling of a concept at next month's Frankfurt Motor Show.
Don't be fooled by the rather awkward looks of this car as it's a crossover featuring the body of the XF with a significantly increased ride height. Since late 2010 we've been hearing news about a potential Jaguar crossover/SUV and this will finally happen as in just a couple of weeks a concept will likely be exhibited at IAA.
Set to receive the XQ or Q-Type moniker, the new Jag will utilize the same platform as the upcoming XS baby sedan. The production version is rumored to come out in 2015 and should be offered with a 4-cylinder 2.2-liter diesel with 163 HP (120 kW) and 220 HP (174 kW), along with a more powerful V6 3.0-liter diesel rated at 240 HP (177 kW). Gasoline engines could include a 2.0-liter turbo with 240 HP (176 kW) and a supercharged V6 3.0-liter outputting 340 HP (250 kW).
