Chevrolet has announced the 2014 Malibu will be priced from $22,965 - including an $825 destination charge - when it goes on sale this fall.

Costing $160 more than the 2013 model, the facelifted Malibu is distinguished by aggressive front fascia with a prominent grille and additional chrome trim. The car also has an updated interior with a new center console, improved front seats and a more comfortable rear bench.

Under the hood, the entry-level model is powered by a new 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 196 bhp (145 kW) and 186 lb-ft (253 Nm) of torque. It features stop/start technology which helps it to return an EPA-estimated 25 mpg city / 36 mpg highway (US).

The optional turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder has also been upgraded to produce 259 bhp (193 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque - an increase of 35 lb-ft (47 Nm).

Last but not least, the model has an improved power steering system, retuned dampers and upgraded brakes that promise to provide a "more confident feel."
