Steve Saleen has revealed some new details about his upcoming supercar.
Speaking to Motor Trend, Saleen said the model will be introduced within two years and pick up where the S5S Raptor concept left off. While the S5S Raptor dates back to 2008, Saleen says the car will be significantly improved and updated.
There's no word on what will power the model, but the S5 Raptor had a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that produced 650 bhp (484 kW) and 630 lb-ft (853 Nm) torque. It enabled the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds and hit a top speed in excess of 200 mph (321 km/h).
The S5 Raptor was originally slated to go on sale in 2010, with a base price of roughly $185,000 (€138,110), but those plans were halted when Steve Saleen resigned from the company in 2007.
