Peugeot has released new photos with the second generation of the 308 scheduled to get its public outing in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Looking considerably better than its predecessor, the all-new 308 has been moved upmarket to better tackle the Golf VII. It's slated to go on sale shortly after its IAA debut and will be available at home in France from 17,800 EUR for the entry-level 1.2 VTi 82 HP (60 kW) version. Those who want more oomph can order the car with a 1.6 THP 155 HP (114 kW) from 24,500 EUR.

Peugeot is offering a wide array of optional goodies, such as 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels, premium sound system, metallic paint, panoramic roof along with several packages like Comfort and Driver Assistance.

The French marque will also showcase at IAA the 308 R Concept to preview a performance-oriented version of its new hatchback. The concept will have the 1.6-liter THP engine borrowed from the RCZ R along with 19-inch rims, lowered ride height, two-tone paint and a more aggressive body kit.
