Lexus has released a new video that highlights the development of the TMG 650.
Created by Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG), the concept was built to show how TMG's Formula One technology can benefit road-going models.
While the concept was originally envisioned as a "Formula One car combined with a limousine," TMG decided to make it more practical and road worthy. As a result, it was equipped with a twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 engine that develops 650 HP (478 kW) and 710 Nm (524 lb-ft) of torque. This enables the sedan to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and hit a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph).
According to TMG's Alastair Moffitt, "There's no concrete plan for this car to go into any kind of production" but the company is hopeful that future prototypes will eventually be green-lighted.
