We could be looking at the Black Series version of the recently introduced Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG.

We weren't expecting this (at least not so soon), but apparently Mercedes-Benz is already working on the A45 AMG Black Series. It was only February when the A45 AMG came out and now we have spy pics depicting what we believe to be the Black Series model judging by the extra wide fenders of this prototype seen testing at the Nürburgring.

As a reminder, the A45 AMG makes use of a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbo engine outputting 360 HP (265 kW) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm). It can run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 4.6 seconds before hitting an electronically-capped top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

We can only assume the meaner Black Series version will provide somewhere in the region of 400 HP (294 kW) squeezed from the small four banger which will be mated to the same AMG SPEED SHIFT seven-speed sports transmission. Aside from the power bump, expect a beefier body kit, larger brakes, bigger wheels and a hefty price tag to match all the added goodies.
