The Honda Civic Type R has been spied undergoing testing on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
Caught being benchmarked against a Ford Focus RS and Renault Megane RS, the highly-anticipated model has an aerodynamic body kit with a new front bumper, extended side skirts and a prominent rear wing. We can also see high-performance brakes and a four-tailpipe sports exhaust system.
Engine options remain unconfirmed but speculation suggests the car will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine. Nothing is official but Honda UK Managing Director Dave Hodgetts has previously said the car will have at least 265 bhp (198 kW) and possibly as much as 300 bhp (224 kW).
Honda has also stated the model will use technology from the World Touring Car Championship Civic but the company declined to elaborate.
