A new report suggests Infiniti will launch a supercar in 2017 or 2018 with styling influences taken from the Essence and Emerg-e concepts.
The company's European boss Fintan Knight told Autocar "we are still evaluating the layout" which means Infiniti hasn't decided yet whether their halo model will feature a front or mid-engined layout. In addition, they still haven't figured out what type of powertrain they will use but most likely the car will feature a V6 gasoline engine working together with an electric motor.
As you would expect, the Infiniti supercar will benefit from Red Bull Racing's involvement especially now that Sebastian Vettel has been named the automaker's Director of Performance. The car will go on sale after the smaller Q30 sedan and a rumored QX30 crossover set to tackle the Nissan Juke. Both of them are due most likely in 2015.
