Our spies have managed to catch the 2015 Mercedes GLK undergoing hot weather testing in Death Valley.
Snapped wearing black and white camouflage, the redesigned crossover has more curvaceous bodywork that echoes the rest of the Mercedes lineup. The prototype also features a two-bar grille, a rounded roofline and bulging rear fenders. The model also appears larger than its predecessor, so expect additional rear seat legroom and added cargo capacity.
Little else is known about the model but it could be based on the 2014 C-Class. This means the 2015 GLK could be equipped with a variety of engines including:
- A 2.2-liter CDI four-cylinder with outputs of 170 HP (125 kW), 204 HP (150 kW) and 231 HP (170 kW)
- A 2.0-liter four-cylinder with outputs of 184 HP (135 kW), 211 HP (155 kW) and 252 HP (185 kW)
- A 3.0-liter V6 with 333 HP (245 kW)
