Subaru has quietly announced plans to offer a WRX RS40 in Australia.
Designed to celebrate the company's 40th anniversary in the country, the model features a WR blue exterior and 17-inch alloy wheels with a gold finish. The car has also been equipped with special badging, a strut tower brace and an STI front and rear spoiler.
Interior changes are limited but include an individually-numbered plaque, a short-throw shifter and Recaro sport seats with blue Alcantara inserts.
Like the standard model, the WRX RS40 is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter boxer engine that develops 265 HP (195 kW) and 343 Nm (252 lb-ft) of torque.
Production will be limited to 300 units and pricing reportedly starts at $44,490 AUD.
