The Lexus GX has had rough life that includes an unfortunate redesign and a "Do not buy" warning from Consumer Reports, but a new report is indicating it will soon be put out of its misery.
According to Automotive News, the GX will receive a minor facelift next year and then be dropped from the lineup in the fall 2016. Shortly before this occurs, the company is expected to introduce a seven-seat crossover that could be called the TX.
Featuring unibody construction, the TX will effectively replace the GX and offer seating for seven. Little else is known about the model but it could ride on the front-wheel drive architecture that underpins the Toyota Avalon or the rear-wheel drive platform that is used on the Lexus IS and GS.
