A new report about the Nissan GT-R Nismo says the Japanese supercar will perform the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint in an amazing 2.0 seconds.
Auto Express mentions a Nissan insider said during the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed the Nismo-prepared GT-R will be capable of running the 0-60 mph sprint in only two seconds. This will be possible thanks to a lower curb weight combined with slightly more power, with rumors suggesting more than 570 bhp (425 kW) coming from the twin-turbo V6 3.8-liter engine.
The Nissan GT-R Nismo is being developed in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering, and one of their engineers said "you'd be surprised at how much room for improvement there is" when referring to the GT-R. The Williams' engineer added "where you expect it's all been tuned to the maximum, it's actually easy to make big gains."
Aside from the more power / less weight combo, the GT-R Nismo will receive an array of styling tweaks, carbon fiber trim, different exhaust and red detailing. The vehicle should be able to lap the Nürburgring in less than 7 minutes and 18 seconds when it goes on sale in the second half of next year.
