McLaren is preparing a minor nip and tuck for the 12C Spider which will be showcased in September at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, together with the coupe.

There isn't a lot to talk about since changes will be limited to the headlights and front bumper. The other parts of this prototype weren't camouflaged which makes us believe the front area will be the only one going through surgery.

More importantly, there will be some changes under the hood as a McLaren engineer confirmed 2014 model year will bring a hike in terms of output to the twin-turbo V8 3.8-liter. The 2013MY has 625 HP (459 kW) so it could go up to about 650 HP (478 kW). Don't expect a major increase since McLaren doesn't want the MP4-12C to step on P1's toes.
