The 2014 Land Rover Discovery facelift has returned for an additional session of spy photos.

Last time we saw the refreshed Discovery sitting next to the current model, but this time the prototype was spied testing alone. The revised model will adopt slimmer LED strips similar to the ones seen on the Range Rover and Evoque models. The front grille will also go through a mild revision and will have elliptical cut-outs for the mildly changed headlights. Side mirrors will incorporate the turn signals while the back of the car will probably be carried over without any changes.

Our sources have informed us the 2014 Land Rover Discovery will be offered with the supercharged V6 engine from the F-Type S so it should output 380 HP (279 kW). This will serve as a replacement for the naturally-aspirated V8 5.0-liter engine. The six-cylinder will be connected to an eight-speed automatic gearbox provided by ZF, but later on will be matched to the new nine-speed which will be available for the Evoque starting this fall.

Expect the facelifted Discovery to arrive in September at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
