Two-time Formula 1 world champion was interviewed for about 15 minutes while tackling the Nürburgring in a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.
RTL decided to do a rather special interview with Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso behind the wheel of an F12 Berlinetta lapping the Nürburgring Nordschleife. When asked about his favorite car, Alonso obviously answered the F12 and motivated his response by saying it's a beautiful and powerful car which is "unique to drive."
The F12 Berlinetta came out last year as a replacement for the 599 GTB Fiorano. Excluding the LaFerrari, it's the company most powerful model on sale today thanks to a V12 6.2-liter engine generating 730 bhp (544 kW) and 509 lb-ft (690 Nm) of torque. It will do 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.1 seconds and a top speed of more than 211 mph (340 km/h).
In regards to Formula 1, Fernando Alonso believes Mercedes AMG is getting more and more competitive and will be a tougher opponent especially towards the end of the season. Having already won a couple of races, Mercedes could join the Red Bull - Ferrari - Renault trio in the battle for both titles.
