According to a recent report, Jeep is developing a Cherokee SRT.
Little is known about the model but Allpar says it will have a "hopped-up engine" that is connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission. We can also expect aggressive styling and a street-oriented all-wheel drive system.
There's no word on what will power the model but early speculation suggests there could be a turbocharged / twin-turbo Pentastar V6 with roughly 375-410 bhp (280-306 kW). Another possible candidate is a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder that develops more than 300 bhp (224 kW). However, that particular engine could be a long shot since the Cherokee's 3.2-liter Pentastar V6 produces 271 bhp (202 kW).
