Volvo has announced the S60 Polestar will be priced from $109,950 AUD when it goes on sale in Australia later this month.

Volvo has released new details about the S60 Polestar.

Set to go on sale later this month, the high-performance model is distinguished by an aerodynamic body kit which includes a front splitter, a rear diffuser and a trunk-mounted spoiler. The sedan is also features gloss black mirrors, a sports exhaust system and 19-inch alloy wheels with Bridgestone Potenza RE 050A tires.

The cabin is elegantly appointed with black leather sport seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and alloy pedals. The model also has a Dolby Pro Logic audio system, GPS navigation, "Polestar" sill plates and an individually-numbered badge.

Power is provided by a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that develops 350 bhp (257kW) and more than 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system which enables the 1684 kg (3712 lb) sedan to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). In terms of efficiency, owners can expect to average 10.2 L/100km (23 mpg US / 27.6 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 243 g/km.

For improved handling, engineers installed a carbon fiber strut tower brace and a sport-tuned suspension with new stabilizer bars, stiffer springs and Öhlins adjustable shock absorbers. There's also high-performance brakes that measure 336x29 front and 302x22 rear.

The S60 Polestar will be priced from $109,950 AUD ($105,670 / €79,240) and Volvo confirmed additional markets are under consideration "pending the response of the Australian introduction."
