Lexus recently announced plans to offer a premium mid-sized coupe in the "near future" and Topspeed's David Kiss has created a rendering that shows what a possible IS Coupe could look like.

Using proportions inspired by the LF-CC concept, Kiss based his rendering on the IS sedan and make several modifications to the doors, roofline and greenhouse. The end result is pretty convincing and likely foreshadows the production model that could be launched as early as next year.

As we have previously reported, the IS Coupe is expected to use the same engines as its sedan counterpart. This means choices will likely include a 2.5-liter V6 with 204 bhp (152 kW) and a 3.5-liter V6 with 306 bhp (228 kW). There could also be a hybrid variant that uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor to produce a combined output of 220 bhp (164 kW).
