DragTimes has tested the McLaren MP4-12C once again to clarify how fast the car really is with street tires in the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) run.

On their previous test the 0-60 mph sprint was completed in 2.9 seconds but now they managed to shave off 0.1s, thus matching the Nissan GT-R's time. The MP4-12C had street-legal Toyo R888 tires featuring the same compound and tread wear rating as the factory-fitted Pirelli Corsa.

Even though the McLaren MP4-12C and Nissan GT-R both reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.8 seconds, the MP4-12C hits 100 mph (161 km/h) a second quicker than the GT-R. The attached graph shows a 0-60 mph in 3s instead of 2.8s because it doesn't take into account the one-foot roll out.
