The Ford Ka will probably be axed in the near future since a company executive said the model has not been included in a brand-wide advertising campaign.

The Ford Ka will probably be axed in the near future since a company executive said the model has not been included in a brand-wide advertising campaign.

This isn't the first time we hear this as in late 2012 Ford of Europe design chief Martin Smith said the Ka "produces absolutely no profit." Now, Ford of Europe director of social media Elena Cortesi declared "for quite a long time we have not produced new advertising" and they describe the Ka as "a stand-alone vehicle."

Add to these two statements a 20 percent decrease in European sales last year to 59,112, and it's easy to understand why such rumors are born. In addition, JATO Dynamics figures show sales through April have plummeted by 27 percent to 18,824 units.
