Chevrolet has announced the 2014 SS will be priced from $44,470 - including a $995 destination charge - when it goes on sale in the United States this fall.
Costing roughly $5,000 more than dearly departed Pontiac G8 GXP, the SS comes nicely equipped with leather upholstery, heated / ventilated front seats and a Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system with GPS navigation. The car also has dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry and a Bose audio system. Only two options will be available including a power sunroof ($900) and a full-size spare tire ($500).
Power is provided by a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine that develops 415 bhp (310 kW) and 415 lb-ft (563 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission that enables the sedan to accelerate from 0-60 mph in roughly 5.0 seconds.
