A closer look on the VW Group brands reveals that worldwide sales for the group's high-end brands saw the biggest gains in the six-month period in 2007

The Volkswagen Group set an all-time sales record in the first six months of 2007, delivering 3.09 million vehicles to customers around the world, a 7.8% gain over the same period last year. While deliveries to Western Europe were up 1.3%, the biggest gains can be seen in Central and Eastern Europe and South America where sales were up 22.8% and 27.7%, respectively. Over the six-month period, VW Group delivered 263,000 vehicles to North America, representing a 3.1% increase over the same period in 2006. A closer look on the VW Group brands reveals that worldwide sales for the group's high-end brands saw the biggest gains in the six-month period in 2007; Bugatti (+131.3%), Lamborghini (+29%), Bentley (+18.8%), while the large-volume brands also saw strong gains, Skoda (+13.2%), Audi (+9,8%), Volkswagen (+7,4%). Seat registered a 1,8% decline in sales.
