Chevrolet has announced the 2014 Spark EV has a MSRP of 27,495 USD.
The MSRP includes the 810 USD destination fees and can be reduced to 19,995 USD in those states where it's eligible with the full federal tax credit. Available at select Chevrolet dealers in California and Oregon starting June, the electrified Spark can be had with a 36-month lease plan at 199 USD per month with 999 USD due at signing.
It has a 21 kWh lithium-ion battery and an electric motor generating 130 bhp (96 kW) and 542 Nm (400 lb-ft) of torque, a setup which enables the Spark EV to reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than eight seconds. More importantly, EPA has rated the car with a combined fuel economy equivalent of 119 MPGe and a range of up to 82 miles (132 km).
Once the battery is depleted, it can be refilled by using a 240V outlet for less than seven hours. If you are in a hurry, you can use a SAE Combo DC Fast Charger which needs only 20 minutes to charge the battery pack to an 80 percent capacity.
