The 1,914-horsepower EV hypercar is on-track for customer deliveries late next year.

We’ve seen the Rimac C_Two for a couple of years now, or have we? The answer is yes, however, the car that debuted at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show and the blissfully white follow-up that graced Geneva in 2019 are technically concepts. Rimac will debut its production C_Two next year at – you guessed it – the 2020 Geneva Motor Show, and production-spec prototypes are now out and about undergoing a battery of tests.

That said, we don’t spot any glaring differences between the previous concepts and the prototype shown in the above video. In a press release, Rimac says the testing will further develop and fine-tune the EV hypercar before it goes into production next year. 17 prototypes are in the works, which is over twice the number of Concept One production cars built earlier in the decade.

When the C_Two debuts in Geneva, it will have a different name that’s still a closely guarded secret. One thing that won’t change from the concept is power, and there will be a lot of it. Specifically, this EV monster will develop 1,914 horsepower (1,427 kilowatts) going to all four wheels, and should hit 60 mph in under two seconds.

Following the debut, customer deliveries are slated to begin in late 2020.

RIMAC C_TWO PROTOTYPES INITIATED

Following years of development and detailed computer simulations by the engineering team at Rimac, we are proud to share the Rimac C_Two prototype testing program on tracks and in testing facilities around the world. The first batch of prototypes is undergoing vehicle dynamics, powertrain, passive safety and crash tests since spring 2019, pushing components such as tires and suspension to the limit.

The tests will benefit further development and fine-tuning of components before entering the pre-production phase in early 2020. A total of 17 prototypes will be made, each with different testing purposes, from chassis rigidity to high-performance autonomous driving development.

Tests will continue as the C_Two builds up to its production-car unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show in March before customer deliveries begin at the end of next year. We are excited to announce that we will be unveiling the production-specification version of the C_Two at the 2020 Geneva International Motor Show. That model will differ from the concept versions you've seen previously in 2018 and 2019 with improvements in design, ergonomics, and performance. Together with the understanding of the term "concept", the name "C_Two" will be replaced by the production model name.
