Infiniti is currently working on its own version of the Nissan Leaf, but with major changes.
First of all, it will look nothing like Nissan's variant which is good news since the Leaf is far from being a looker. Not only the exterior will be different, but the interior cabin will also be completely overhauled and is likely to use more premium materials.
In addition, Infiniti's Leaf will provide support for induction technology which means no more charging cables. The Japanese marque wants automakers to work on induction tech on an open source basis instead of developing the technology on their own.
According to Infinity's chief Andy Palmer, "the whole concept of not having to couple up cables to a plug socket, dragging them on the ground and on you as you go, is in keeping with luxury motoring."
