The Lamborghini Urus production version has finally been confirmed, following months of rumors and speculations.

The important announcement was made by Audi chief Rupert Stadler during the Lamborghini's anniversary tour. He said a production version of the Urus will hit the market sometime in 2017.

As a reminder, the concept was introduced last year at the Beijing Motor Show and is considered to be the spiritual successor of the LM002. It comes with a 600 HP (440 kW) engine linked to a dual clutch gearbox and a permanent all-wheel drive system. Urus concept has an adjustable suspension, 24-inch wheels, a four-tailpipe exhaust system, rear diffuser and a tailgate-mounted spoiler.

According to a report published in February, the production version could receive a V8 engine and electric motors to provide a combined output of 680 HP (500 kW). Lamborghini chairman Stephan Winkelmann said the Urus could also be offered with a second type of powertrain, but didn't go into any details.
