Mercedes-Benz has released a teaser video with the 2014 S-Class, ahead of the car's debut on Wednesday in Hamburg, Germany.
Thanks to several spy shots and a leaked brochure, the cat is pretty much out of the bag as far as the new S-Class is concerned. From what we know, at first it will be available in a S350 BlueTEC variant featuring a V6 3.0-liter diesel rated at 258 HP (190 kW) and 457 lb-ft (620 Nm) of torque, enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
S500 will make use of a V8 4.7-liter gasoline mill churning 455 HP (335 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque. It will hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
The S400 Hybrid is going to have a hybridized V6 3.5-liter with 306 HP (225 kW) and 273 lb-ft (370 Nm). 0-62 mph should take 6.8 seconds and top speed will be 155 mph (250 km/h).
Inside it will receive LED ambient lightning, wood/leather steering wheel, Burmester sound system, along with additional goodies such as a panoramic sunroof, soft-close doors and illuminated door sill plates. The 2014 S-Class has two 12.3-inch displays to act as instrument cluster and COMAND infotainment system.
It will be available with rear 10-way adjustable "Chauffer Seats" featuring a power foot rest. We should also expect to see Maybach-like tray tables deployable from the rear center console. In terms of tech, the new S-Class will adopt Active Seat Belts, rear seat airbags, advanced Night View Assist PLUS system, Magic Body Control system and an Air Balance Package which will filter and ionize air and dispense perfume.
Return on Wednesday for full details regarding the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
