Chevrolet is paying tribute to the lone star state by announcing plans to offer a Silverado Texas Edition.
Designed to recognize the strong bond between Texans and their trucks, the Texas Edition features body color trim, a locking rear differential, a trailering package and 20-inch polished aluminum wheels. Moving up to the top-of-the-line LTZ Texas Edition adds chrome accents and a Bose audio system.
Depending on which model is selected, the Texas Edition will be powered by either a 285 bhp (212 kW) 4.3-liter V6 engine or a 355 bhp (250 kW) 5.3-liter V8 engine.
According to Silverado marketing director Maria Rohrer, “The Silverado Texas Edition recognizes the fact that one out of every six full-size pickups are sold in Texas. It combines features that add real value for Silverado customers with unique badging that honors the connection between Texans and their trucks.”
The Silverado Texas Edition will be available exclusively in Texas, but other states will receive an optional Custom Sport package that offers similar equipment.
