Alfa Romeo UK CEO Damien Dally has confirmed the company is developing a crossover.
Speaking to The Telegraph, Dally said "There will certainly be an SUV in the next two or three years." The executive declined to go into specifics but hinted that Fiat's ownership of Jeep will give them access to a "whole portfolio of technologies."
The Alfa Romeo crossover is expected to be based on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee that recently debuted at the New York Auto Show. This likely means the model will be offered with a variety of engines including a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 184 bhp (137 kW) and 232 Nm (171 lb-ft) of torque as well as a 3.2-liter V6 with 267 bhp (199 kW) and 316 Nm (233 lb-ft) of torque.
