BMW has announced plans to offer an xDrive variant in UK of the recently unveiled 3-Series Gran Turismo.

At first the four-wheel drive system will be available exclusively for the 320i model and will cost an extra 1,500 GBP compared to the regular RWD version. Since the standard 320i SE is priced at 28,835 GBP, it means its xDrive sibling will set you back at least 30,335 GBP. The Bavarian company is thinking about whether to offer xDrive to other versions of the 3-Series Gran Turismo starting next year, including for the 2.0-liter diesel.

BMW's xDrive system is able to split torque between the axles for providing optimal traction, while in normal road condition power is distributed 40:60. It can also detect oversteer or understeer and send up to 100 percent of the torque to one of the axles as a method to improve stability.
