The next generation of the Nissan Qashqai will not be offered in the +2 variant once it goes on sale next year. Instead, new X-Trail getting seven-seat version.

Apparently, the next generation of the Nissan Qashqai will not be offered in the +2 variant once it goes on sale next year.

Nissan's global product planning chief Andy Palmer said they will sell a seven-seat crossover but "won't do it in the same way." Auto Express has learned from a Nissan insider the new Qashqai will be available exclusively as a five-seater, while the X-Trail will receive a seven-seat version.

The next-generation of the Nissan X-Trail will probably be unveiled in September at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, while the Sunderland-built 2014 Qashqai will be allegedly revealed in November. A plug-in hybrid variant is rumored to come out next year. The new Qashqai is said to resemble the Hi-Cross Concept presented at 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
