Mercedes-Benz USA announced the Boston Marathon suspects were apprehended with assistance from the GPS system installed in an ML-Class.

Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev carjacked a 2013 Mercedes-Benz ML350 which came factory-equipped with a GPS system. The German automaker was asked by the authorities to track down the car using the Stolen Vehicle Location Assistance function part of the mbrace telematics system. After the request was authenticated, the tracking feature was turned on and they were able to find out the exact location of the vehicle.

Several days ago, Mercedes-Benz's USA CEO Steve Cannon wrote on Twitter "Just found out that our mbrace2 technology in the stolen Mercedes helped locate the Boston terrorists! Thanks to our amazing law enforcement."
