Audi's technical chief Wolfgang Durheimer acknowledged a new SUV larger than Q7 “would fit in our offerings.”

There have been many rumors concerning a range-topping Q model in Audi's lineup and now one of the company's representatives is keen on the idea of a bigger SUV. Durheimer declared internal competition is being encouraged within the VW Group and there are no risks of overlapping models. He also wants to convince the bosses at Volkswagen to green-light the Bentley and Lamborghini SUVs, along with the Audi Q2 which he described as being a "top priority".

As far as the Q8 is concerned, it is believed the range-topping SUV would adopt a sporty styling in the same lines as the recently unveiled Range Rover Sport, while on the inside it will be just as luxurious as the A8.
