The 2013 Mercedes-Benz E-L has been spotted ahead of its Auto Shanghai debut scheduled for Saturday.

As you might have guessed already, this is an elongated version of the 2014 E-Class facelift designed specifically for the Chinese market. From what we know so far it has been stretched by 11cm to bring additional room for rear passengers.

It will be manufactured in China by the Beijing-Benz joint venture and will be offered in the following variants: E200L (1.8-liter turbo with 184 bhp), E260L (1.8-liter turbo with 204 bhp), E300L (V6 with 231 bhp) and E400L Hybrid (333 bhp V6 + electric motor). The latter represents Mercedes-Benz's most powerful model made in China and also their first China-made hybrid.
