Scheduled to arrive on the Chinese market in June, the wagon version of the 2013 Lavida has a hatchback style and will be available exclusively in China. It will be manufactured by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture and will be targeted to those looking for an affordable estate.

While the sedan is 4605mm long, the Variant has a 4454mm length and shares the same 2610mm wheelbase. It will retain the sedan's engines so expect a 1.4-liter turbo with 130 bhp (97 kW) and a 1.6-liter with 104 bhp (77 kW).

Pricing is expected to kick off from approximately 120,000 Yuan (about 19,400 USD / 14,900 EUR / 12,700 GBP).
