Volvo has officially revealed the production version of the S60 Polestar, following last week's teaser.
The hot S60 is powered by an inline-six T6 2953cc engine capable of producing 350 HP (257 kW) at 5,700 rpm and more than 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) between 2,800 rpm and 4,750 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with launch control and a Polestar-tweaked Haldex four-wheel drive system.
Polestar took care of the engine's software while other modifications include a new intercooler, Borg Warner turbo and a full-flow stainless exhaust system with 3.5-inch tailpipes. Other updates were brought to the front/rear stabilizers, rear tie blades, springs and strut brace (with carbon fiber enforcement).
Thanks to these changes, the S60 Polestar sprints to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.9 seconds and can reach an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
The 2013 Volvo S60 Polestar production version is fitted with bespoke 19-inch wheels wrapped around in Michelin Pilot Super Sport 235/40 R19 tires. Stopping power comes from front 336x29mm ventilated discs and rear 302x22mm ventilated Brembo discs.
It tips the scales at 1,684 kg (3,712 lbs) and benefits from several aero enhancements such as front splitter corners, rear spoiler and diffuser. On the inside it has Polestar-specific gearshift knob, door trims, badges and plates on the steering wheel and door sills.
At first it will enter limited production exclusively for the Australian market, with deliveries expected to commence in late June.
