It is important to mention California residents can get the car for only 20,500 USD after state incentives, federal credits and rebates, making the 500e 200 USD cheaper than the comparably-equipped, conventionally-powered 500 Lounge. As for the 36-month lease program, Fiat says is identical to the 500 Pop powered by a gas engine.
As a reminder, the 2014 Fiat 500e is EPA-rated to return 122 MPGe city / 108 MPGe highway / 116 MPGe combined. It has an electric motor producing 111 bhp (83 kW) and 147 lb-ft (200 Nm) working together with a 24 kW lithium-ion battery. It has a maximum range of 87 miles (140 km) and can reach a top speed of 85 mph (137 km/h).
Scheduled to go on sale this summer, the Fiat 500e will be available at first through the company's 25 dealerships in sunny California.
