Shelby SuperCars (SCC) has announced the Ultimate Aero is once again the fastest production car in the world.

As most of you know the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport lost its title for the world's fastest production car after it was discovered the top speed limiter was deactivated. Although this really doesn't fall into the category of modifications, Guinness decided to withdraw Bugatti's record as they consider the supercar is not eligible to hold on to the record title anymore.

Like we predicted, the SSC Ultimate Aero is once again the world's quickest production car as it was able to establish an average speed of 256.14 mph (412.22 km/h) on a public highway in Washington in 2007. The Veyron SS was up until recently title holder with a speed of 267.8 mph (430.98 km/h).
