Citroën has revealed the DS Wild Rubis Concept before the luxury SUV's public appearance set for 2013 Auto Shanghai later this month.

The concept is 4.70 meters long, 1.95 meters wide and 1.59 meters tall, with a 2.9-meter wheelbase and 21-inch alloys. It rides on a modified version of the DS5 platform and will reportedly feature a new gasoline-electric hybrid drivetrain consisting of a transversely-mounted gasoline engine powering the front wheels and an electric motor for the rear axle, enabling the Wild Rubis to have a four-wheel drive setup.

There are no official details about the gasoline engine right now but it seems we are dealing with a 4-cylinder, direct-injection, 1.6-liter which together with the electric motor provide a combined output of 240 bhp (179 kW).

China will be the first country to get the production version sometime next year, but Citroën most likely plans for a European launch as well. Reports are indicating the car will receive the DSX7 Hybrid-4 moniker.

Full details will be available on April 21 when the concept debuts in Shanghai.
